XXL’ Freshman 2014 Cypher featuring Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, August Alsina, Kevin Gates and Isaiah Rashad

“…..and the freshman class say”

So all together I garner the true essence behind the new XXL Freshmen 2014 Cypher and that is the lack of diversity in Hip Hop. Rap’s trendy guide and popular mag, XXL debuted last month’s issue with the Freshman class edition that started a bit of controversy simply because the women in the hip hop game is once again, slowly dwindling into the faded scene. Although XXL failed to consider the attention of new female artists to watch such as Jhene Aiko or Sevyn Streeter, it only featured upcoming R&B artist August Alsina and diversified artist himself Chance the Rapper just to name a few. So when I watched Part one of the Freshman Cypher I can honestly say I am looking more forward to the second one.

LucasFilm had announced earlier today breakthrough actress and new Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o to be apart of the Star Wars: Episode VII cast. I am glad to know that the next film she is going to be in is  such a popular franchise. With J.J Abrams as director and the movie coming out on December 10th, I wonder what Ms. Nyong’o is going to do next.
